All puppies travel in the climate-controlled cargo area of the plane, where the temperature is maintained at a comfortable 70 degrees, the same as the passenger cabin. Additionally, they are the last to be loaded and the first to be unloaded, minimizing exposure to outdoor conditions.
Shipping a puppy during winter is very similar to a person traveling to visit family for the holidays—if anything, it’s even easier. The only difference during this time of year is that airlines have strict temperature requirements at each stop to ensure the puppy’s safety. While the in-flight temperature remains stable, these regulations serve as an extra precaution for the puppy’s well-being. Similarly, during the summer, airlines do not ship if temperatures are too high. If weather conditions are not ideal, we simply adjust the shipping schedule by choosing a cooler or warmer part of the day or selecting the next best available date. Can I Travel to Pick Up My Puppy?
Yes! You are always welcome to travel and pick up your puppy in person after purchase. Most airlines allow passengers to fly with a puppy in-cabin without an additional fee, apart from your own ticket cost. However, some airlines may charge an extra pet travel fee, so it’s always best to check with your airline in advance.
Does My Puppy Need a Vaccine After Pick-Up?
No, your new puppy does not need any vaccines within the first 14 days of arrival. Before leaving our home, your puppy is already up to date on vaccinations and will not require another for several weeks. Some veterinarians may suggest an additional vaccine right away, often as a way to increase charges. However, it is important to avoid any vaccinations during the first vet visit, as your puppy needs time to adjust to its new environment without unnecessary stress.
That said, it is essential to take your puppy for a veterinary check-up within 48 hours of arrival. This ensures your puppy is in good health and allows for early detection of any concerns. If any health issues arise, we take full responsibility and will either offer a replacement puppy or provide a refund if no other puppies are available at that time

We highly recommend choosing a small-town vet whenever possible. In smaller communities, word spreads quickly, and a vet with bad practices won’t last long. Additionally, small-town vets are often more affordable than larger corporate clinics. Before making a decision, we suggest researching local vets in your area and checking customer reviews to ensure you find a reputable provider.
